Is Dermot Mulroney’s Chief Pascal leaving Chicago Fire Season 14 for good?
Dermot Mulroney’s Chief Pascal will reportedly be on hiatus from Chicago Fire Season 14 and won’t be seen in some of the upcoming episodes. However, his permanent exit is not confirmed.
Battalion Chief Dominick “Dom” Pascal will be going on a break in the second half of the latest season, Deadline reported, citing sources. He will appear in the upcoming crossover event of the Chicago franchise. The episode brings together the characters of Chicago Fire, PD, and Med together and will air on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 8 pm ET/PT onwards. Further, Pascal is said to make his last appearance in Episode 14 before taking a break.
Further, he is expected to return in the last few episodes of Season 14. However, this development is not confirmed since the makers are yet to finalize the scripts of the last episodes, as per reports. Additionally, a new character is expected to fill in for Pascal in his absence. This will be Rob Morgan, who will step in as Battalion Chief Hopkins, according to Deadline. He is expected to show up in Episode 16 and will also be seen in the season finale.
The character has managed several Chicago firehouses in the past. In Season 14, fans have already seen less of Pascal in action. This is the CFD budget cuts across firehouses, which forced Pascal to request that Severide handle Firehouse 51 on his behalf. These instances can contribute to explaining Pascal’s absence in the upcoming episodes, with Hopkins taking his place. It will also be interesting to see whether Hopkins and Severide will clash over the firehouse’s leadership.
