Viewers are curious to know whether Good Fortune features a mid-, post-, or end-credits scene. Directed by Aziz Ansari, the supernatural comedy centers around Gabriel, a well-meaning but clumsy guardian angel who interferes in the lives of a struggling worker and a wealthy venture capitalist by swapping their identities. With the movie now in the theaters, many are curious to know if they should wait for an additional post-credits scene.
Does Good Fortune have a post or mid-credits scene at the end?
Good Fortune does not have a mid-, end-, or post-credits scene. The audience can leave the theaters once the credits roll.
Generally, makers include an additional scene to either solve any plot twists or to tease a sequel. Some franchises, like Marvel, also use the credit scene to announce the future of a particular character. However, in Good Fortune’s case, the film appears to be self-contained, and there’s also no official announcement for a potential sequel.
In a conversation with The Wrap, director Ansari revealed how he managed to write a budget angel character, played by Keanu Reeves. He revealed that when he began writing, he kept Reeves’ comedic performances in mind as the base. After Reeves joined the project, he adjusted the role to match his “otherworldly” quality of acting.
He added, “I started thinking about, ‘What if he’s never used the Internet?’ What’s he gonna do? He’s gonna look at photos of baby elephants.” Apart from Reeves, the cast also includes Seth Rogen as Jeff, Aziz Ansari as Arj, Keke Palmer as Elena, and Sandra Oh as Martha.
In an interview with Esquire, Keke Palmer teased what the audience could expect, further appreciating Ansari’s tonal shift across the movie. She said, “Nothing is just one beat all the time. At some point, you’re going to laugh. At some point, it’s going to break. That’s just the rhythm of things. But whenever something really hits me, I feel like it really does hit me through that veil.”
