The new crime thriller featuring Vanessa Kirby, Night Always Comes, has come out on Netflix. Released on August 15, 2025, the movie features incredible filming locations for intense shots that make the movie feel grounded and real.
So, where was it all shot? Below is a list of all the known filming locations for Night Always Comes.
All filming locations where Night Always Comes was shot
Night Always Comes is based on a book of the same name by Willy Vlautin. It centers around Lynette (Vanessa Kirby), who descends into a night of desperate measures to raise $25,000 to save her home and her brother, Kenny.
The makers filmed the movie across Oregon, focusing on Portland while also including other cities. Here’s a breakdown of the locations.
- Portland, Oregon: Portland’s unique location offers a gritty look to the movie. It’s most popularly known to be surrounded by breathtaking nature. It’s got everything, from snow-capped mountains and thick forests to rivers that extend for miles. The city’s streets and neighborhoods worked perfectly with the tone of the movie. One of the most notable aspects of the movie was that the bridges across the city were widely used, too.
It also showcased some of the real-life restaurants and bars to add more authenticity. Because Lynette worked as a bar employee, the movie uses Belmont Inn, a real bar, as her workplace. Additionally, the movie used Stan’s Food & Deli, Really Good Stuff, and My Father’s Place as locations Lynette visited during the night. - Gresham, Oregon: Gresham’s Mt. Hood Community College was an important filming location for Night Always Comes, as it was where Lynetter and her brother attended. Lynette remembers the location while talking about what their life looked like. This gives the viewers some context about where they came from.
The crew shot the entire movie over nearly two months, between May 14, 2024, and July 2, 2024.
