Ebony Obsidian’s Karen has had a complex arc in Sistas, and now, many believe that she is going to exit the show as she continues to be in the middle of a life-or-death situation. Karen has gone through a lot since the beginning of Season 6. She was caught in a salon fire in that season that threatened her life. Now, after surviving the devastating fire, she is once again at the focal point of something very risky.
Is Ebony Obsidian leaving, and will Karen die in Sistas Season 9?
As of now, there is no confirmed news that Ebony Obsidian’s famed character is leaving Sistas. But the spoilers for July 30, 2025, have given fans something to be worried about. Obsidian’s character will reportedly face an uncertain fate, with death looming over her character’s head.
As per the spoilers, Karen’s heartbeat will start getting weaker in the July 30 episode. This will prompt Dr. Vaughn to step up and nurse Rhonda to enquire about a possible medical will that Karen left behind.
Hence, it seems Karen is on very thin ice, and though the show has not killed her off yet, she is not out of danger either. As per most of the reports, Ebony Obsidian’s character is still alive in the Sistas. She is still suffering from her pregnancy-related complication, but that does not ensure that she will leave the show.
Rather, Sistas will probably think hard before parting ways with a character as important as Karen. In all likelihood, there are high chances Karen will survive this ordeal, too, and will be back on the show as a regular again.
In the upcoming episodes, the show will continue to play around with Karen’s story, and even if she were to exit, Sistas is expected to give her a very dramatic exit.
