Joining Netflix’s intriguing list of documentaries is Trainwreck: PI Moms, which shares another bizarre story like The Real Project X and Poop Cruise. In this new documentary, Netflix sheds light on the group known as PI Moms, which consisted of several soccer moms who were trained as Private Investigators.
So, if you are wondering who the mothers are in Trainwreck: PI Moms, here are the details.
Who are the mothers in Trainwreck: PI Moms?
The PI Moms were a group of soccer moms who were trained by former police officer Chris Butler.
They were eventually recruited to work for Butler & Associates. The mothers included Michelle Allen, Charmagne Peters, Denise Antoon, and Ami Wiltz. “Being a mom, I’m able to multitask. I’m also, you know, just naturally nosy and always trying to figure out what my kids are doing,” Wiltz had said about joining the group. (via RadioTimes)
The entire thing caught the attention of the media after the group appeared on Dr. Phil. The story of these mothers was even set to be adapted into a reality show by Lifetime. But things ultimately did not go their way as Butler, who was heading the group, soon turned out to be heavily involved in criminal activities.
Where are Trainwreck’s PI Moms now?
Everything changed for the PI Moms when Butler was arrested on multiple felony charges. He was eventually sentenced to eight years in prison. This ended the run of the PI Moms despite the attention they had generated with their initial work.
Following this, the PI Moms withdrew from the spotlight. They were not involved in anything illegal and hence did not face the risk of punishment. They have stayed out of the limelight for the most part since then. Some of them made an appearance in the Netflix documentary.
Trainwreck: PI Moms is now streaming on Netflix.
