The Hunting Wives has recently premiered, and its ending sees Sophie deal a drastic fate to a major character. Accordingly, fans are wondering why Sophie takes such a step. This drama mystery series is based on the novel of the same name written by May Cobb. It follows the aforementioned Sophie, who moves from Boston to a fictional East Texas town named Maple Brook. After arriving, she finds herself growing close to a socialite, leading to her getting entangled in a complex and dangerous web of seduction, obsession, and murder.

In the last episode, Kyle stalks Sophie after learning that she knows the truth about Margo killing Abby. Previously, Abby learned that Brad, her boyfriend, and Margo had an affair, resulting in Margo’s pregnancy. Abby uncovered the pregnancy after Margo got an abortion and Brad confessed the same to Pastor Pete. Subsequently, an enraged Abby confronted Margo at the lake — resulting in Abby getting shot by Margo, who wished to protect her secret and prevent it from coming out.

Kyle later seeks out Sophie and threatens her life. In fear, she runs her car over Kyle, killing him.

Sophie was drunk at the time she killed Kyle. Thus, instead of reporting what happened to the police, she takes his body and dumps it. While dumping his body, she sees his phone ring and answers it. Margo, who had called Kyle, answers it and realizes that something bad has happened to him — thanks to Sophie’s heavy breathing.
