Wondering why Joy Taylor won’t be on Fox Sports? The network recently made major programming changes that resulted in the cancellation of multiple shows, including Speak, Breakfast Ball, and The Facility. Taylor, who had been with Fox since 2016, now finds herself at the center of both professional and legal controversy.
Here’s what led to the cancellations and why Taylor’s contract wasn’t renewed.
Was Joy Taylor fired from Fox Sports, and why?
Fox Sports has decided not to renew Joy Taylor’s contract, ending her tenure at the network after nearly a decade.
According to The Athletic, Fox Sports canceled Taylor’s talk show Speak due to low viewership, along with Breakfast Ball and The Facility. The network will replace all three shows, originally launched under former executive Charlie Dixon, with new programming that has yet to be announced.
The decision follows Taylor’s involvement in a controversy linked to a lawsuit filed in early 2025 by former Fox Sports hairstylist Noushin Faraji. The lawsuit accused Dixon and host Skip Bayless of sexual battery and misconduct. It also alleged that Taylor engaged in inappropriate workplace behavior and made retaliatory comments after a falling out with Faraji.
Faraji claimed that Taylor told her to “get over it” when she reported Dixon’s alleged misconduct. She further alleged that Taylor said she would later accuse Dixon of assault if he became “no longer useful” to her. Taylor has denied all of the allegations.
In June 2025, Taylor appeared on The Breakfast Club and addressed the controversy without naming the case. “I have felt a lot of different emotions,” she said. “I think it’s a grief process when anything like that happens… You can’t decide who you are when it’s happening.”
During the interview, Taylor confirmed she was negotiating with Fox Sports to renew her contract. A few weeks later, sources reported that the network chose not to extend it.
Dixon exited Fox Sports in April 2025 amid the legal dispute. Fox Sports has not released an official statement regarding the cancellations or Taylor’s departure. The network also canceled several shows, but The Herd and First Things First will continue to air. Fox Sports reportedly plans to announce new programming soon.
