Why New Episodes of The View Aren’t Airing This Week – Return Date Revealed

ABC’s The View did not air any new episode this week, and viewers are wondering why. The iconic talk show is airing reruns from June 30 through July 4. So, when is the show’s return date?

Here’s everything you need to know about the continuation of the popular talk show.

Here’s why The View is not airing new episodes this week

The View is not airing new episodes this week due to its annual summer break.

The talk show is showcasing a rerun of its old episodes this week. This decision ended up leaving fans confused and worried. There has been a history of shows getting canceled or ending abruptly by networks. So, it was natural for The View fans to wonder if the show got canned.

However, they can heave a sigh of relief as The View is not going anywhere. The show has just gone on its annual weekly summer break. The View’s return date is next week, that is Monday, July 7, 2025 (via Entertainment Weekly).

Further, it will continue its run on ABC at 11 a.m. ET. This is not the first time The View has been on a weekly hiatus. Previously, in April 2025, the show took a one-week spring break starting from April 14, 2025.

The next episode will also mark the comeback of co-host/moderator Whoopi Goldberg, who has been absent from the show due to her trip to Italy. During her absence, Joy Behar took over the role of moderator.

Behar spoke about Goldberg in the previous episodes stating, “We are all jealous of Whoopi today because she’s in Italy — I hope it’s 100 degrees. She’s in Italy accepting an award for her book Bits and Pieces, so she will be out this week.”

The upcoming episodes of The View are expected to be full of entertainment, involving new topics. In addition to the weekly run, the show also has a Weekend View airing on Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. ET on ABC News Live.
