The Bear has become notorious for its big cameos, and in The Bear season 4, the series brings in the iconic Brie Larson as a character mentioned many times before, but never depicted on screen.
Brie Larson takes on the role of Francie Fak in the series. Francie’s name has often been associated with Natalie, who, for some reason, hated her to the core. Francie’s appearance on the show finally clears some air around this long-drawn mystery.

The Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson made her debut in The Bear season 4 as Francine “Francie” Fak, the protective sister of Neil, Ted, and Sammy Fak. She apparently disapproves of all of her brothers’ girlfriends and claims she does this because she cares for them.
Francie finally makes her way to the show in the fourth episode during Tiffany and Frank’s wedding. She and Natalie immediately get off on the wrong foot. As the two yell at each other, the show offers some exposition on their past relationship through their dialogue.
Their fight escalates to the point where they need to be separated by Pete and the Fak brothers. Later, at the table, they finally talk and make up with each other.
Why Natalie doesn’t like Francie Fak in The Bear Season 4
Throughout the previous seasons, the show never delved into the feud between Natalie and Francie. However, as they fight in the fourth episode of The Bear season 4, some clues emerge. Though most of the dialogue in this sequence is unclear because they are shouting over each other, the narrative still provides some insight.
Piecing together what they said, it seems Francie and Natalie got intoxicated and trashed someone’s house. Following this, Francie ditched Natalie. Moreover, their fight also reveals that they were romantically involved at some point, much earlier.
Their past romantic involvement makes their long-drawn feud much more believable. However, through this episode, the show resolves the conflict. It does not delve very deep into exactly what happened. Perhaps future seasons of The Bear will find more time to address this long-running feud.
