What Is Wrong With Wynonna Judd’s Health? Vertigo Illness Explained

Over the years, news about Wynonna Judd’s health issues has circulated several times and made her fans concerned and curious as to what is wrong. One of the most celebrated country music singers of all time, Wynonna Judd was a part of the mother-daughter music duo The Judds with her mother, Naomi, before embarking on a solo career in the early 90s. Judd has received numerous accolades over the years, including a star on Nashville’s Music City Walk of Fame. As part of The Judds, she joined the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2022.

Here is what we have learned about what is wrong with Wynonna Judd and her health struggles.

What are Wynonna Judd’s health problems?

In 2010, Wynonna Judd had to deal with two major issues related to her health. Her doctors spotted blood clots in her lungs, prompting her to be hospitalized immediately in March. In July of the same year, she was in a car crash alongside her daughter and tour manager, which led to another hospitalization.

The singer was supposed to appear in CBS’ New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash in 2022. However, she experienced an “extreme bout of vertigo” and had to cancel the performance. In a video posted on Instagram a few days later, she addressed her concerned fans. “I am working so hard on my mental, physical, and spiritual well-being,” Judd explained. “I have a great team, and I’m really blessed and I’m broken, and I’m working really hard at self-care, which is not selfish; it’s sacred.”

While performing at the 2023 CMA Awards, Judd held onto her co-performer Jelly Roll’s arm the entire time. She later explained that it was due to extreme nervousness.

Wynonna Judd on her weight loss

Before the two major 2010 health-related incidents mentioned above, doctors had told Judd about her significantly high cholesterol level. However, after enduring those incidents, she finally decided to bring about positive changes in her life and went on to lose 55 lbs. within months.

Speaking to People in 2010, the singer said, “My weight was a symptom and not the problem. I used food to soothe and reward, and I don’t do that anymore.”
