There’s a flashback of Gojo explaining how Black Flash works, but there’s no definite answer for using Black Flash. Gojo says it’s not simple and it even depends on luck. Although Nanami has a better record for using Black Flash consecutively, Gojo has used it more in terms of the total number. Author Gege Akutami puts a note saying Yuji will someday surpass Gojo’s record.
Yuji, Choso, and Maki attack Sukuna. But Sukuna dodges and counterattacks using Black Flash on Maki. Sukuna uses his slashes to catch Choso off guard, using Black Flash on him too. But Choso creates an armor using blood, grabbing Sukuna’s arm. Yuji then punches Sukuna in the face.
Choso says Sukuna using Black Flash to regain momentum doesn’t matter. Because Yuji’s hits decrease Sukuna’s cursed energy output and control over Megumi’s body. Miguel talks to Larue, telling him they should retreat. But Larue says there’s something else he needs to do.
Sukuna attacks Yuji, but Yuji uses Piercing Blood. Yuji gets into The Zone, and Sukuna notices Yuji’s about to use Black Flash. But his mind goes elsewhere. Larue’s cursed technique lets him hold the heart/mind of someone he’s grabbed previously. He holds onto Sukuna’s consciousness, and then Yuji lands a giant Black Flash on Sukuna.
The narration says Yuji has awakened.
