Who is Miguel in Jujutsu Kaisen?
Miguel is a talented sorcerer who comes from a sorcerer clan in Africa. They created the Black Rope, a cursed tool at level with special grade tools such as the Inverted Spear of Heaven (the weapon used by Toji Fushiguro). Black Rope has the power to cancel the effects of cursed techniques, though it burns off every time it’s used to cancel a technique.
When he was first introduced in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Miguel was part of Geto’s group and served as one of his commanders. Miguel was in the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, and he had the opportunity to fight Gojo during this time. He used Black Rope to cancel Gojo’s Infinity and attack him physically.
So within the events of JJK 0, Miguel was technically considered a curse user. But this will eventually change when Gojo forcefully recruits him.
Why is Yuta friends with Miguel?
Gojo forcefully recruits Miguel to become a mentor to Yuta. Miguel brings Yuta to Africa to train him and teach him how to manipulate his cursed energy better. Miguel and Yuta appear to get along, although Miguel still doesn’t like Gojo.
Is Miguel good or bad?
At the start of the story (JJK 0), Miguel is considered one of the bad guys since he aligned himself with Geto’s group. He was also loyal to Geto, though he left the group after he died.
After Gojo recruited him, he became Yuta’s mentor. So it’s possible that Miguel is on the side of Jujutsu High, or at least on civil terms with them.
