American YouTuber and rapper IShowSpeed recently pulled a prank. But has he been arrested in 2024? Was he caught speeding and driving recklessly? Here’s all you need to know.
Has IShowSpeed been arrested?
Darren Watkins Jr. aka IShowSpeed has been arrested in the past after prank calling the police, but he hasn’t been arrested in 2024.
In late 2022, IShowSpeed made a prank call to 911, which some fans in the comments pointed out to be a call to his friend, based on the responses. However, the YouTuber was later seen in handcuffs, getting into trouble with local law enforcement officers. Ultimately, nothing came out of that situation, and he was eventually let go.
On April 1, 2024, IShowSpeed made a call to his mom about being arrested for punching someone who followed him. It was just a prank call but his mother believed it. On the stream, he said:
“No, no mom chill. April Fool’s, April Fool’s, April Fool’s. I am sorry.”
His mother replied:
“Oh come on now, I was almost about to call Broward County!”
While she almost called Broward County, Watkins wasn’t entirely pleased with his mother’s reaction during the call. After ending the call, he said that his mother seemed too calm on the phone for his liking. However, the bottom line is that it was just an April Fool’s prank and nothing more.
Was IShowSpeed speeding while driving his Lamborghini?
IShowSpeed was spotted driving his Lamborghini over 150 miles per hour in a race with an Acura on the streets.
Watkins hasn’t been arrested in 2024, but he did face some backlash from the fans after exceeding 150 mph during his IRL stream. He showed off his new Lamborghini Huracán being involved in a street race.
People watching the stream expressed concern by commenting that he was endangering himself and others’ lives by driving so fast. Considering that the speed limit in Texas is 85, many viewers have been speculating on whether or not he’ll face any repercussions for practically breaking the law and posting the evidence online.
