Dragon Ball Z Live-Action (2024): Is The Live-Action Movie Real or Fake?

With the Dragon Ball Z live-action movie images going viral, people wish to know if they are real. Is the film coming out in 2024? Here’s everything you need to know.

Is the Dragon Ball Z live-action movie for 2024 real or fake?

The viral images of a Dragon Ball Z live-action movie for 2024 are AI-generated and fake. The movie is not coming out in 2024.

With several popular anime including Fullmetal Alchemist, One Piece, and Yu Yu Hakusho getting live-action treatments, many wish to see Dragon Ball Z done right in the live-action space too.

With that in mind, a few new social media posts showcasing images of Goku, Vegeta, and other familiar Dragon Ball characters have been gaining traction on the internet. But are the following images real?

As mentioned in the X post, the images are an AI-generated concept. They aren’t real and no Dragon Ball Z live-action movie has been put under development yet. So, the above AI images will not be translated into a live-action adaptation in 2024.

Will a live-action Dragon Ball Z movie ever come out?

A Dragon Ball Z movie hasn’t been put under development yet. But with celebrities such as Michael B. Jordan showing interest in directing a DBZ project, it could happen in the future.

In 2023, Nerdist reported that Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan was interested in the challenge of bringing a Dragon Ball Z movie to life.

He said, “I love challenges. [Directing a ‘Dragon Ball Z’ live-action movie] would probably be the ultimate challenge. It’s almost like a Catch-22. Who is going to be the first one to really roll the dice and try to get that one in the real way? I don’t know … I don’t have the answers yet.”

Even Rebel Moon director Zack Snyder stated that he’d consider doing a live-action anime remake in the future. But at the moment of writing, these ideas have not been put into motion, and no studio has green-lit a DBZ live-action movie after the unsuccessful attempt of 2009’s Dragonball Evolution.

So, it’ll be a while before any live-action DBZ project is put under development, if it ever happens.
