Fans have been wondering if Deadpool and Wolverine are friends or enemies in the MCU, especially after seeing the recently released trailer. Here is all you need to know.
Are Deadpool and Wolverine friends in the MCU?
It remains to be seen whether Deadpool and Wolverine will be friends in the MCU. However, according to Hugh Jackman, they will be at odds with one another for much of the film due to their clashing personalities.
However, in an appearance on the Empire Film Podcast in December 2022, Hugh Jackman teased that his Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool would have a “quarreling dynamic” in the film that would irritate the former, implying that they would be reluctant allies for much of the film’s runtime. He said:
“How do I categorize it? Ten being really close, zero being the reality, we’re zero, we’re opposites, hate each other.”
The Wolverine star then added:
“I’m just talking from my perspective, [Logan’s] frustrated by him, wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot.”
Hugh Jackman’s comments from 2022 were given some supporting footage with the recently released trailer‘s ending shot. It depicted Wolverine popping out his claws and moving in to hurt Deadpool, who begged for him to wait as the shot cut to the film’s title.
Given the contrasting personalities between Wolverine and Deadpool, fans can most definitely expect them to clash at multiple points in the film. However, if the title and the teaser poster are anything to go by, fans can expect the two characters to ultimately join forces to stop the movie’s main villain.
