Cailee Spaeny, Charles Melton, Anne Hathaway, and Jake Gyllenhaal are reportedly being eyed to star in Beef Season 2. However, nothing is confirmed at the moment.
As per a new report from Deadline, Beef series creator Lee Sung Jin is searching for a new cast for the second season of the Netflix and A24 series. The storyline for the second season will revolve around two feuding couples, with Cailee Spaeny and Charles Melton being eyed to play one couple, and Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal to play another, the report further stated.
However, Deadline has also added this is early and no deals are set in place at the moment.
Will Steven Yeun and Ali Wong return in Beef Season 2?
Steven Yeun and Ali Wong are currently not confirmed to return for a potential Beef Season 2.
It seems unlikely that Yeun and Wong will return for a second season. This is because Lee Sung Jin hinted at the anthology route in an August 2023 The Hollywood Reporter interview. He revealed he originally pitched the show as an anthology with multiple seasons, with each new season focusing on different characters. Thus, if a second season were to be made, he would likely go with his original pitch and tell a new story with new characters.
Further, even though he said he wanted and would love for Yeun’s Danny and Wong’s Amy to return and he’s open to everything, it seems unlikely as their story appeared to have hit a conclusion towards the end of Season 1.
