Death and Other Details Episode 6 Ending Explained, Spoilers & Recap

Here’s Death and Other Details Episode 6’s ending explained featuring spoilers and a recap of what happened. Dive into our breakdown and learn more about Viktor Sams and his involvement in all the episode deaths.

What happened at the end of Death and Other Details Episode 6?

Death and Other Details Episode 6, titled “Tragic”, ended with Rufus Cotesworth revealing the fact that he isn’t the world’s greatest detective, but a fraud.

The episode’s final few minutes saw Viktor Sams causing a blackout on the ship. Shortly after that, Llewellyn Mathers jumped off the ship’s deck proclaiming his love for Imogene’s mother, and calling Rufus Cotesworth a hack.

As it turns out, he was right about Rufus. While Imogene searched through Llewellyn’s suite for clues, she asked Rufus to take her through her mother’s investigation, he suggested that it would be a bad idea. It’s then that he reveals how he became the “World’s Greatest Detective.”

He confesses that he came across the stolen jade necklace purely by luck and was given the title because of it. He was good, but not as great as the world thought him to be. So, using his fame, he bluffed through many cases, but couldn’t do the same on Imogene’s mother’s case as Llewellyn saw right through him.

Nevertheless, Imogene asks him to take her through her mother’s murder investigation. She has now been turned into the lead detective of the series.

Who dies in Death and Other Details Episode 6?

Governor Alexandra and Llewellyn Mathers died in Death and Other Details Episode 6.

As Alexandra was about to reveal the dark truth behind the Colliers’ Chinese factory, she died of poisoning. She became another victim of Viktor Sams as Winnie admitted to poisoning her through vitamin drips.

Towards the end, Llewellyn jumped as he couldn’t hold the guilt of knowing why Imogene’s mother, Kira Scott, died. She was killed by Viktor or one of his agents as a means to warn the Colliers. After all, they were culprits in causing harm to the Chinese public by using the banned harmful chemical Captionem Blue in their Jiangsu factory. Over the years, Llewellyn had been punishing himself. But he couldn’t hold the guilt anymore and killed himself.

Who is Viktor Sams and is he evil?

Since Sunil Bhandari wasn’t Viktor Sams but only worked for him, it’s likely that the menacing personality hasn’t appeared on screen yet.

Until Episode 5, Sunil was suspected of being the killer of Imogene’s mother. But as it turned out, he only spied for the real killer and allowed him to store his servers on the ship. With only a few villainous candidates being present on the ship, it’s likely that Viktor Sams hasn’t shown up on screen yet.

Furthermore, he might be an antihero instead of a traditional villain. Using his resources and manipulation tactics, everything he has done so far was to right the wrongs of the world. But were Danny and Kira Scott also evil? Why he had those supposedly innocent people murdered remains to be seen.
