Many viewers noticed Dakota Johnson in The Office finale and she recently described her experience being on the show. Here’s what she said about the whole filming process.
What did Dakota Johnson say about filming The Office?
Dakota Johnson playfully called filming The Office finale the “worst time” of her life.
As mentioned above, The Fifty Shades lead appeared in 2013’s The Office finale. Being one of the funniest sitcoms of its era, one would imagine that spending time on the show would be a treat. But it was no picnic for the Madame Web star.
Speaking on Late Night With Seth Meyers, she said:
“That was honestly the worst time of my life.”
She revealed that she was excited to be in the popular series, but her experience while filming the episode was bad, to say the least!
Why didn’t Dakota Johnson like being in The Office?
Johnson said she didn’t like being on The Office set because her filming schedule was longer than expected and people barely spoke to her.
She told Seth Meyers:
“I love that show so much, and they were like, ‘Do you want to be in the series finale?’ and I was like, ‘Of course,’ thinking that I’d show up for, like, half a day. I was there for two weeks. and I’m barely in the f—ing show.”
One could relate to Johnson as she only had two scenes with dialogues and was mostly spotted in the background of several scenes. To make things worse, she went in to shoot at a time when the regular cast that had spent a decade together was understandably emotional.
When Meyers asked whether everyone was sad, she said:
“They were sad. And also, like, there were weird dynamics that had been going on for the last 10 years. Some people didn’t speak to each other, and I’m coming in like, ‘Hahaha, I’m so excited to be here,’ and no one wanted to talk to me, nobody gave a f—. And I was like in the background of all of these scenes, faxing things.”
Instead of The Office, Johnson found her onset experience to be better in darker and edgier movies. According to her, people had a lot of fun with each other to lighten up the mood between intense takes.
