Reacher Season 2 Ending Explained & Spoilers: Who Dies in the Episode 8 Finale?

Here’s Reacher Season 2 Episode 8’s ending explained featuring spoilers from the finale. Go through our recap to learn what happened and who died in “Fly Boy.” Also, learn how Reacher Season 2 sets up Season 3.

What happened at the end of Reacher Season 2 Episode 8?

In the finale of Reacher Season 2, Reacher stopped the illegal trade of Little Wing missiles that could have caused a massacre.

After stopping Langston and ‘A.M.’, the Special Investigators called in Omar Karim from Homeland Security to deliver the missiles and the Little Wing chips that would have made them operational. They also turned in Senator Lavoy and his unit after their betrayal. The boomerang missiles didn’t fall into the hands of the terrorists and everyone involved in creating them got what they deserved.

But before separating, the four surviving 110th Special Investigators shared one last drink and got another memorable picture clicked. As for the money, the Special Investigators took the $65 million in untraceable bearer bonds and left Reacher in charge of it. He distributed millions of dollars to the families of everyone who died to stop Little Wing.

Calvin Franz’s wife and child got a big money order. Reacher put a few million in the name of O’Donnell’s kids to secure their future. He sent a bag of money to Detective Russo’s cousin, helped out Jorge Sanchez and Manuel Orozco’s associates, set up round-the-clock care for Neagley’s father, put a donation in a local pet shelter in the name of Tony Swan and his dog, and started an LLC for Karla Dixon, so she could run her own company as she sees fit. It’s possible that Reacher stashed anything that remained somewhere to perform more acts of philanthropy in future seasons.

Who dies in Reacher Season 2 Episode 8?

Langston, his entire army, his pilot, his engineer Russell Johnson, and A.M. died at the hands of Reacher and the 110th members in the finale.

The final episode of Reacher Season 2 featured a lot of action and death. Neagley infiltrated New Age’s research facility while Reacher killed off Langston’s protection unit. Following that, Reacher found his way onto the chopper carrying Langston, O’Donnell, and Dixon. He heroically saved his friends and they killed Langston in the same way he killed Franz, by throwing him out of his chopper.

Things came to a full circle with Langston. However, instead of giving fans a more conventional brawl between Reacher and A.M., all four Special Investigators unleashed a barrage of bullets on him.

Lastly, Reacher let the pilot and the engineer escape, but Neagley launched one of the Little Wing missiles to kill them. This was a bit different from Lee Child’s book, where Reacher let the engineer live.

What’s next for Jack Reacher in Season 3?

Reacher bids farewell to his old squad and is ready for a new adventure, which might involve Neagley as well.

Buying a year’s Trailways Pass worth $1980 for himself (with the untraceable money), he said goodbye to Neagley. But she asked him to stay in touch, which was a tease for Season 3 as Maria Sten is confirmed to return as Frances Neagley. However, the book that will inspire Season 3’s story hasn’t been revealed yet. Our best guess is ‘Tripwire’ or ‘Die Trying’.
