This fantasy anime has been developed from the Japanese light novel series of the same name written by Ryūta Kijima and illustrated by Sando. The story is about Rud, who is the shielder or tank in the hero’s party. He is extremely good at his job and has acquired a defense stat of 9999. He raids dungeons in search of a cure for his ailing younger sister. Fame and fortune found in those places are immaterial to him. After the hero, Kyglas, throws him out of the group, deeming his abilities to be useless, Rud encounters a girl who drastically changes the direction of his life.
