It was announced at the Chainsaw Man Jump Festa 2024 stage that the next installment in the series will be a film called Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc. For the anime-only fans, some of you might be wondering who Reze is. Here is a guide on Reze in Chainsaw Man.
Who is Reze in Chainsaw Man?
Reze is the main antagonist in the next arc of the Chainsaw Man anime, which is the Bomb Girl arc. She is a devil hybrid from the Soviet Union. Her mission involved stealing Chainsaw Man’s heart. She also pretends to be working for the Gun Devil, as part of her mission.
Denji meets her while he’s waiting for the rain to stop. She appears to be interested in him, even inviting him to come over to the cafe where she works. The relationship between the two eventually develops and they grow closer to each other and hang out more. She even teaches Denji how to swim. However, Reze eventually admits that her interest in Denji and wanting to get closer to him was all because of her mission.
As a devil hybrid, she’s also known as the Bomb Girl or the Bomb Devil. Her hybrid form looks like an atomic bomb.
Did Reze actually love Denji?
Even though Reze’s motivations to like Denji and get close to him are related to her mission, she ends up liking Denji anyway because the two have some things in common. Reze was still merciful to Denji at some point, even though it would be against her mission. At the end of the Bomb Girl arc, Denji offered to run away with her. Reze considered it, and she missed her train, planning to meet Denji again.
