Merry Little Batman Ending Explained

Merry Little Batman Ending Explained & Spoilers: What Happens at the End?

Merry Little Batman just dropped and fans are curious about what happens at the end. Here is the ending explained with spoilers.

What happens at the end of Merry Little Batman?

At the end of Merry Little Batman, Damian Wayne goes to confront The Joker and defeats the villains with the help of Batman. Damian goes despite knowing it’s a trap and then falls for it. He then ends up trapped with The Joker, Poison Ivy, Bane, and Penguin alongside the various Christmas gifts the villains had stolen in order to ruin the festival for Gotham City.

Damian is then given an opportunity to become a villain by Joker and the others, in part because he had been labeled as one by Gotham’s citizens. However, he resists that temptation and destroys his belt, which in turn destroys the globe. Batman then arrives to rescue Damian and the two of them fight and defeat the villains. The villains are then arrested but before Joker is sent away, Batman is convinced by his son to indulge the villain as all he wants is Batman’s companionship.

Why did Joker orchestrate his plan to ruin Gotham’s Christmas?

Joker orchestrated his plan to ruin Gotham’s Christmas as he was upset and angry at Batman for spending more time with his son and cleaning up the streets than indulging Joker and offering him companionship.

Why was Damian villainized by Gotham residents?

Damian was labeled a villain by Gotham City residents as he caused massive property damage while trying to subdue Penguin.

In the film, the Penguin manages to get his hands on Damian’s utility belt and believes he has trapped the boy. However, Damian outsmarts Penguin and this leads to a chase across Gotham over the Christmas Day parade floats. Unfortunately, Damian’s chase of Penguin causes the floats to fall and catch fire in addition to massive property damage. This ultimately makes the city turn on Damian and villainize him.

Damian then felt lost over what happened and blamed himself for ruining Christmas, however, Alfred Pennyworth offered comfort to the young boy and told him he had time to right his wrongs and save the day.
