Netflix‘s new TV and movie releases for December 4-10 include Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, Sam Esmail’s Leave the World Behind, and Love and Monsters.
Starting December 7, viewers can stream Zoya Akhtar’s highly anticipated The Archies, an Indian romantic-drama musical related to the Archie comics. The film is set in the 1960s in the small Indian town of Riverdale and sees Archie and his friends Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton navigate friendships, love, and their future as a beloved park is threatened with destruction by developers. The film features a stacked cast comprised of Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, Aditi Saigal, and Yuvraj Menda.
Then, on December 8, viewers can stream the psychological thriller Leave the World Behind based on Rumain Alam’s 2020 novel of the same name. The film is directed by Sam Esmail and stars Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali, and Kevin Bacon, among others.
Finally, on December 9, viewers can catch Love and Monsters, a monster adventure film starring Dylan O’Brien and Jessica Henwick. The story revolves around a man named Joel who goes in search of his lost girlfriend Aimee amidst a post-apocalyptic landscape.
