The streaming release date of The Kerala Story is highly anticipated, and viewers are wondering when they can start streaming the TV series. Released in theaters on May 5, 2023, The Kerala Story garnered controversy because of its subject matter and received mostly negative responses from critics. However, the film went on to become one of the most commercially successful Indian films of 2023, earning ₹303.97 crore ($38 million at the time) at the global box office against a ₹15–20 crore budget.

The Kerala Story release date is could be December 2023 or early 2024.
As the film had its theatrical release in May 2023, there evidently has been a significant delay in its OTT release. In late 2023, Adah Sharma, who portrays Shalini Unnikrishnan / Fatima Ba, told Jagran English that The Kerala Story was coming out on OTT “this year,” adding that the reasons for the delay would also be revealed. However, it’s already December, and the film isn’t available on OTT yet. If The Kerala Story ends up not coming out within this month, it can be speculated that the film can start streaming in early 2024.
The Kerala Story revolves around a converted Muslim woman named Fatima Ba, formerly known as Shalini Unnikrishnan, and her friends, as they undergo brainwashing and end up in the clutches of the Islamic State.
The Kerala Story was directed by Sudipto Sen, and the cast includes Adah Sharma as Shalini Unnikrishnan / Fatima Ba, Yogita Bihani as Nimah, Sonia Balani as Asifa, Siddhi Idnani as Geetanjali, Devadarshini as Shalini’s mother, Vijay Krishna as Ishak, Pranay Pachauri as Rameez, Pranav Misshra as Abdul, Pranali Ghogare as Shaziya, and more.
Is The Kerala Story coming out on Zee5?
The Kerala Story could be available to watch via streaming on Zee5.
In May 2023, Jagran English reported that Zee5 had acquired the digital streaming rights of The Kerala Story. However, the news seems to have been not confirmed by any other outlet. ComingSoon will provide an update when the streaming date and platform are officially announced.
Current Zee5 subscribers should be able to watch the film if it airs on the service. Zee5 currently offers three premimum plans to its prospective subscribers in India. Premium HD (six months) costs ₹599, Premium HD (12 months) costs ₹899, and Premium 4K (12 months) costs ₹1199.
The Kerala Story official synopsis reads:
“A converted Muslim woman Fatima Ba narrates her ordeal of how she once wanted to become a nurse but was abducted from her home and manipulated by religious vanguards, turned into an ISIS terrorist and landed in Afghanistan jail.”
