After reports that Jennifer Garner’s Elektra from 2003’s Daredevil and 2005’s Elektra would return in Deadpool 3, fans began speculating as to whether or not that was the case. Here is all you need to know about the buzz going around.
Is Jennifer Garner’s Elektra going to be in Deadpool 3?
Neither Jennifer Garner nor Marvel Studios have outright confirmed Elektra’s return in Deadpool 3, at least at the time of publishing. Moreover, Garner also acted tight-lipped when asked about the reports.
Back on July 7, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Jennifer Garner’s sai-wielding assassin Elektra Natchios, from the critically panned films Daredevil and Elektra, would be making a Marvel comeback in Deadpool 3, which is already set to feature a stack of returning characters like Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa.
Shortly after, a now-deleted tweet from Maximum Effort, Ryan Reynolds’ production company, also seemed to confirm this report by welcoming Garner into the film. However, Marvel Studios themselves had not confirmed the report or the tweet at the time.
In a recent interview with Collider, while promoting her new Netflix film Family Switch, Garner was asked by the interviewer about her appearance in the film, to which the actress played coy and said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. What could you mean?” and also stated she was not aware of these reports or rumors. In what seems to be an odd timing, Maximum Effort has also deleted the tweet which seemingly confirmed Elektra’s return.
That said, fans of the character need not be worried as it’s very possible Garner could be pulling a stunt similar to what Andrew Garfield did prior to his confirmed Spider-Man: No Way Home appearance and that she could very likely be appearing in the film, given that she is also a 20th Century Fox character like Deadpool, Wolverine and rest of the X-Men.
Of course, fans will have to wait for the film’s official trailer or the film itself to find out for sure.
