After the ending of The Marvels, ardent MCU fans are left asking when will Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica Rambeau return. Since the film didn’t perform particularly well, a few are confused if The Marvels would even be back. Here’s all you need to know about their return.
When will Captain Marvel return after The Marvels?
Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, could return in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty after The Marvels.
Towards the end of The Marvels, Carol finally returns to Earth permanently, moving back to Louisiana. So, her next move should be to assemble with Sam Wilson, Star-Lord, and others in the next Avengers movie.
Despite the reported performance of The Marvels, Captain Marvel is still expected to return and Brie Larson also talked about her willingness to continue. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, she said:
“I don’t want Marvel to come for me. But there is something. There is definitely something, to answer your question, that I would want to say, but I am not going to. I think there is still so much inside of Carol. I feel like getting to be on this team just cracked her open in a way that she hadn’t been, and I really loved that for her.“
She continued:
“I just loved her letting the shoulders drop a little bit, and not need to feel like all the responsibility was on her. So I think that there is just so much more to go.”
So, we should expect to see her in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Whether she also gets a cameo at the end of Captain America 4 remains to be seen.
When will Ms. Marvel return?
Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, is expected to return in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and/or a Young Avengers project.
The ending of The Marvels perfectly set up a Young Avengers project. So, that’s where Kamala Khan is expected to return alongside Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang, and other candidates. But since a Young Avengers movie/series hasn’t been announced yet, it’s also possible for their team to assemble in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. But the former seems to be likelier.
When and where will Monica Rambeau return in the MCU?
Monica Rambeau is expected to return either in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars.
Considering that Monica was stuck in a different universe, she will certainly return to a multiverse-based project. Since Deadpool 3 is already filled with characters, it’s quite likely that Monica’s return will only happen in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars.
