Gen V: What Are Sam’s Powers & Abilities?

Gen V‘s Sam Riordan is an interesting character in the superhero series, thanks to his story and the impressive powers and feats he possesses. Here is a list of all his powers and abilities.

What are Sam’s powers in Gen V?

Sam’s primary power in Gen V is superhuman strength. Along with superhuman strength, he also possesses superhuman leap and superhuman durability.

Superhuman Strength

Sam’s main ability is his immensely augmented superhuman strength. His strength makes him more strong than an average human being and also allows him to rival most Supes. According to Edison Cardosa, Sam, on multiple levels, is also stronger than his older brother Luke aka Golden Boy, who was one of the most powerful Supes at Godolkin University prior to his demise. Sam’s strength is such that one punch is enough for him to kill a regular human and also send Supes flying.

Superhuman Leap

Sam’s superhuman leaping abilities are complemented by his superhuman strength. Thus, making this an extension of that ability. Sam can leap from great distances and leave impacts in the form of giant craters. Moreover, according to Andre Anderson, Sam’s leaping strength is similar to that of Queen Maeve’s, implying that his leaping strength is on par or at least just below Maeve’s leaping strength.

Superhuman Durability

Like his late brother Luke, Sam also possesses immense durability. This allows him to easily endure attacks from Andre Anderson and Jordan Li, both of whom are among the higher-ranking students of Godolkin University, and come out of battle unscathed. Sam’s durability also allows him to withstand gunfire.

However, Sam also possesses some weaknesses, which include:

  • Electricity: Sam is highly susceptible to electricity. Andre was able to leave him unconscious with one hit from an electric baton. Moreover, the floors in his cell were also laced with electricity to be used against him should he rebel.
  • Schizophrenia: Sam suffers from Schizophrenia, which makes it hard for him to distinguish between reality and imagination. However, this could also be seen as a strength, as Sam’s viewing of people as puppets and confetti makes him quite effective in combat.
