Jujutsu Kaisen: Who is Fumihiko Takaba?
Fumihiko Takaba was introduced in the Perfect Preparation arc of the series, specifically chapter 146. He is 35 years old. He is one of the regular people who became a sorcerer because of Kenjaku.
Takaba is a comedian, although it seems like he does a bad job at it. His character introduction shows him working at a comedy club, putting on a show in front of a bored crowd. His manager then reprimands his poor performance, telling Takaba that he should stop doing comedy or that he should do something else.
Another colleague tells Takaba that he doesn’t mind Takaba’s jokes. He then mentions there are two kinds of comedians: ones who are funny and ones who believe they’re funny. He asks Takaba which one he thinks he is, then Takaba says he’s both, with a 70-30 ratio.
Takaba’s abilities and Cursed Technique
Takaba is surprisingly strong and incredibly skilled in hand-to-hand combat. Due to his silly personality, people tend to underestimate him. When Takaba wants to entertain, his strength level goes up. Reggie Star saw this in Takaba’s fight with Iori Hazenoki. Reggie also acknowledges Takaba’s speed and strength.
Takaba possesses significant levels of cursed energy. This was seen when Reggie and Hazenoki were cautious even though Takaba said he was only going to tell them a joke. In chapter 169, Takaba fought Hazenoki and was able to send Hazenoki flying through a building.
Takaba’s cursed technique is Comedian. When he thinks something will surely be funny, it becomes true. It has been noted that it’s a technique that’s possibly powerful enough to even go against Gojo. However, Takaba doesn’t know how his power works. Currently, not much is known about the technique’s details.
