Loki Season 2: Who Is Victor Timely & Is He a Kang Variant & Villain?

Loki season 2 finally expands on the introduction of Victor Timely in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’s post-credits scene. But fans want to know who Victor Timely is, how he is related to Kang, and whether he is a villain. Well, here’s all you need to know about Jonathan Majors’ latest MCU persona.

Who is Victor Timely in Loki season 2?

Jonathan Majors plays Victor Timely in Loki season 2, who is a variant of He Who Remains from the Sacred Timeline of Earth-616.

While following Ravonna Renslayer into 1893’s World Fair in Chicago, Loki and Mobius meet Victor Timely. He was the backup choice of He Who Remains in case he himself died. Hence, after his demise, Ravonna Renslayer and Miss Minutes delivered a TVA diary to a young Victor Timely in 1963.

Then, 30 years later, Timely became an inventor with his ideas and the knowledge he gained from O.B.’s TVA guidebook. Using his talents, he didn’t just design a Temporal Loom prototype, but also a device to enhance its power. That’s how he was set on a path to ultimately take over the TVA and bring order to the Multiverse.

Is Victor Timely a Kang variant?

Yes, Victor Timely is a Kang variant. He is the sixth major Kang variant introduced in the MCU after He Who Remains, Rama-Tut, Scarlet Centurion, Immortus, and Quantumania’s Exiled One.

In the comics, Victor Timely is an industrialist and a brilliant inventor who is also skilled in combat. That’s because he is a persona that Kang Prime takes up as a disguise when he returns to the early 1900s after conquering everything and battling the Avengers.

Going back in time, he created his own technologically advanced town of Timely, Wisconsin, and became its mayor. Later, he even founded a company called Timely Industries and shaped the future with his technology and knowledge. But here in the MCU, he is an alternate variant of Kang who is in his beginning stage.

Is Victor Timely a villain?

Victor Timely isn’t a villain to begin with. However, he has been set on a path to become one by He Who Remains, Miss Minutes, and Ravonna Renslayer.

It’ll be interesting to see if he actually goes on to become a villain or if he will end up perishing like He Who Remains and the Exiled One.
