Is there a Search Party Season 6 release date?
There is no Search Party Season 6 release date as the series ended after five seasons.
It was reported in November 2021 that Search Party would end after Season 5 at HBO Max. After the finale aired, and it was revealed that the series ends with a zombie apocalypse, it surprised most of the show’s fanbase. According to series co-creators Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers, the ending caught them by surprise as well, but they knew that they needed to “go out with a bang.”
“It just felt really fun. Like, these characters would cause the apocalypse and still be in denial of that,” Bliss said. According to Rogers, the series ends with all the main characters in a place of resignation, to themselves and the consequences of their actions. The writer elaborated, “There’s a Wizard of Oz layer in it, too. They’re all getting a version of what they want at the end of the show, but it’s not what they had hoped it would be.”
