Netflix: Can You Buy a Yearly or Lifetime Subscription?

With Netflix increasing its Basic and Premium subscription prices in 2023, many subscribers are looking for yearly subscription options to save money. But does Netflix offer any annual or lifetime subscription plans? Here’s all you need to know.

Can you buy a Netflix yearly subscription?

No, Netflix doesn’t offer any yearly subscription plans at the moment.

There are multiple streaming services that support yearly plans. For instance, Prime Video costs $14.99 a month but also has a yearly plan of $139 that offers two months free to its subscribers.

Paramount+ has monthly plans that go for $5.99/month (with ads) and $11.99/month (without ads). But it also offers yearly plans for $59.99/year (with ads) and $119.99/year (without ads), offering its users two months’ worth of free subscriptions.

Similar is the case with Disney+, MAX, Peacock, and many other streaming services. This way, they can provide subscribers with an extra incentive to subscribe to the service. But Netflix doesn’t have a yearly subscription plan.

Netflix already holds a 247.2 million subscriber base as per its Q3 2023 reports. This total is the highest for any streaming service, indicating that Netflix is already attracting new subscribers without yearly discounts. Therefore, it doesn’t necessarily need to introduce new yearly plans as long as subscribers continue growing.

Seeing how fans react to Netflix’s latest price increase will be interesting. Whether Netflix will still be able to gain new subscribers with the added cost remains to be seen.

Can you buy a Netflix lifetime subscription?

No, Netflix doesn’t offer any lifetime subscription plans either.

It currently offers the following subscription prices to choose from:

  • Standard with Ads – $6.99 a month
  • Standard without ads – $15.49 a month
  • Basic plan for existing subscribers – $11.99 a month (not available to new subscribers)
  • Premium – $22.99 a month
