Is there a Carnival Row Season 3 release date?
We have some unfortunate news for fans of the fantasy series. Before Season 2 premiered in February 2023, Amazon Prime Video announced that it wasn’t going to renew the series after the second season. This means the show has ended with just two seasons and there is not going to be a brand new one.
In an interview with Radio Times, lead actor Orlando Bloom explained the reason behind the show’s cancellation. He expressed that the COVID-19 pandemic was a major factor in the series wrapping things up early. He said, “I think COVID really put the brakes on everything.”
Taking the positive out of the experience, Bloom said, “It was jarring and so the thinking was, there was a lot of love for the show in Season 1 — and certainly Amazon was super supportive — but really, we had so much footage that we were able to take this world and bring it to a conclusion in a really great way.”
In 2019, executive producers Travis Beacham and Marc Guggenheim said in an interview with Collider that they had already “outlined and talked about Seasons 3 and 4.” Looks like the idea is scrapped, at least for now. However, we never know what lies in the future. Although as of now the series is canceled, fans can only hope and pray for it to return, albeit, with a different storyline. The second season did end with a gratifying conclusion so the producers have to come up with a new idea altogether. Only time will tell if the series has a future.
