While Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man is not officially confirmed for Deadpool 3, industry insider DanielRPK has teased the hero’s appearance.
Recently, DanielRPK tweeted a picture of the Deadpool 3 poster alongside the caption, “Pizza Time.” For the unversed, Pizza Time is a line said by Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man in 2004’s Spider-Man 2 when he delivers pizza to a customer at their office.
Ever since the release of Spider-Man 2, “Pizza Time” has become a subject of various online memes alongside other lines spoken by Maguire’s Spider-Man such as “I missed the part where that’s my problem” from 2002’s Spider-Man and “I’m gonna put some dirt in your eye” from 2007’s Spider-Man 3.
Moreover, DanielRPK has also teased that Maguire’s Spider-Man would appear at the end of the film.
Daniel RPK then followed up this tweet by saying that viewers will get what he means when they watch the ending of Deadpool 3. Despite this exciting rumor, fans should take it with a grain of salt as it’s not officially confirmed.
Will Tobey Maguire play Spider-Man again?
At the moment, Tobey Maguire’s return as Spider-Man is unconfirmed.
However, he is a fan-favorite choice when it comes to heroes possibly appearing in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars. With Endgame setting the bar extremely high for crossover moments, it’s expected that Disney will be looking to top that with even more heroes joining forces. It’s been speculated that Kevin Feige would want nearly every Marvel actor from every Marvel franchise, even ones outside of the MCU to reprise their roles in the film.
Moreover, following his return as the webslinger in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tobey Maguire himself has also expressed interest in playing Spider-Man again if anyone offers him the opportunity. He said as much in an interview with Variety:
“I love these films and I love all of the different series,” Maguire continued. “If these guys called me and said, ‘Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?’ or ‘Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?’ it would be a ‘Yes!’ Because why wouldn’t I want to do that?”
