The reason Barbie 2 does not have an official release date is because the director Greta Gerwig has revealed that she has no plans to make a sequel at the moment in a recent interview with The New York Times. Moreover, Gerwig and the stars of Barbie, Margot Robbie, and Ryan Gosling, currently do not have any deals with Warner Bros. to return for more Barbie movies.
However, if Barbie 2 was greenlit in the future, viewers should not expect it to arrive on the big screens at least until 2026 or 2027 or even later. This is due to the long time it would take for development, pre-production, and filming combined.
