Elio‘s streaming release date is highly anticipated, and viewers are wondering when they can start streaming the film.
Viewers are interested to see Elio as the upcoming animated film will serve as the first directorial venture for Adrian Molina, who is known for his storyboarding work on Toy Story 3 and Monsters University. Here is when Elio could be coming out on streaming.
When is the predicted Elio streaming release date?
Elio currently has a theatrical release date of March 1, 2024. Accordingly, viewers can expect Elio to drop on streaming by June 2024.
The reason for Elio’s June 2024 streaming release date is that Walt Disney Studios puts its theatrical films on streaming platforms two to three months after they run exclusively in theaters.
The story of Elio will focus on an eleven-year-old boy named Elio Solis, who accidentally becomes an intergalactic ambassador of Planet Earth after he is beamed up to the Communiverse by aliens after making contact with them. Elio then begins to form a bond with the aliens who beamed him up and also survives a series of formidable trials.
Elio is directed by Adrian Molina and features the voice talents of Yonas Kibreab as Elio Solis, America Ferrera as Olga Solis, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, and Brad Garrett as Ambassador Grigon.
Is Elio coming out on streaming?
Elio will be available to watch via streaming on Disney Plus.
The reason that Elio will stream on Disney Plus is because the film is produced and distributed by Walt Disney Studios, the company that owns and operates the streaming platform.
Current Disney Plus subscribers will be able to watch Elio when it drops on the streaming platform. A basic ad-supported Disney Plus subscription costs $7.99 a month, while an ad-free premium Disney Plus subscription costs $10.99 a month or $109.99 a year. Starting from October 12, 2023, however, the monthly premium subscription will cost $13.99.
Elio’s official synopsis reads:
“Elio, an underdog with an active imagination, finds himself inadvertently beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Mistakenly identified as Earth’s ambassador to the rest of the universe, and completely unprepared for that kind of pressure, Elio must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, survive a series of formidable trials and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.”
