Why Has the Ahsoka Release Time Changed on Disney Plus?

The Ahsoka release time has changed, with the show launching earlier on Disney Plus. For those in the U.S., this change makes the show more accessible to watch at launch, while those in Europe and further east will have to suffer some later nights or earlier mornings to tune in at release. Here’s the need-to-know info about why the Ahsoka release time has changed.

Why has the Ahsoka release time changed?

It’s likely that the Ahsoka release time has changed to make the show’s schedule more friendly to a U.S. audience. Releasing during the evening for U.S. audiences could mean more people watch it.

Ahsoka is now releasing on August 22, 2023, at the following times:

  • 6 PM PT
  • 9 PM ET
  • 2 AM BST (August 23)
  • 3 AM CEST (August 23)

As mentioned above, this new release time will make it much easier for U.S. audiences to tune in as soon as new episodes become available. Previously, shows would release at 12 AM PT/3 AM ET, which is obviously not a very good time for American audiences, especially with a mid-week release.

Unfortunately, while U.S. audiences enjoy an improved time, those in U.K. and other European countries, in addition to those further east, will now need to stay up later or get up earlier if they hope to watch new Ahsoka episodes as they come out.

Will other Disney Plus TV shows and movies release earlier?

If Ahsoka’s new release time works out well, it’s possible that other Disney Plus TV shows and movies will release earlier.

For now, there’s no official word on why Ahsoka is releasing earlier, nor any mention of whether other content will also release at this new time.
