Blue Beetle Ending

Does Blue Beetle defeat Carapax?

Blue Beetle defeats Carapax in their one-on-one clash.

It wasn’t easy for Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) to harness the mighty powers of the Scarab, and it took a while before the Palmera City young man and Khaji-Da (voiced by Becky G) learned to work together. Still, their joint effort defeated the enhanced version of Carapax (Raoul Max Trujillo), the OMAC prototype. When Carapax attacked and seemingly killed Uncle Rudy (spoiler, he’s still alive and well), Jaime raged out and went inches away from stabbing Carapax to death.

Only after Khaji Da showed Jaime the Carapax’s memories, the young man understood he and his foe had more in common than it first appeared. Jaime desisted from killing his opponent, who then sacrificed his life to kill Victoria Kord (Susan Sarandon) in a massive explosion.

Do Jaime and Jenny end up together in Blue Beetle?

Jaime and Jenny kiss at the end of the movie.

The story heavily implies the two young protagonists had feelings for each other, but it wasn’t before the film’s very last scene that they kissed each other. Jenny (Bruna Marquezine) stops by to say hello to Jaime’s family and thank them for the help they provided. When she mentions she needs to return to the Kord Estate, Jaime gallantly offers to give her a ride, and they share some romantic moments alone.

Blue Beetle soars in theaters on August 18.
