Palmera City was first shown in the film’s trailer, which opens with an “I love Palmera City” sign. If you wonder, Palmera City is not a real place and was created expressly for the film.

Blue Beetle was mainly filmed in Decatur, Georgia, but also in El Paso, Texas, as well as Puerto Rico.
The film might be set in Palmera City, but fans will recognize some familiar places from El Paso, Texas. The Wilder Studios in Decatur, Georgia, served as the main location for the principal photography. The choice to also film in Puerto Rico might turn out to be an interesting one as the Caribbean island could offer a unique twist in contrast to usual U.S. or European superhero movie backdrops.
