The Old Man Season 2 release date could arrive in 2024.
While there is no official release date, sources suggest that The Old Man Season 2 could arrive sometime in 2024. The first season premiered on June 16, 2022, and concluded its seven episodes on July 21, 2022. However, the renewal for a second season had already been announced after the third episode aired on June 27. The filming of four episodes was completed, but production had to halt during the fifth one due to the ongoing WGA Writers’ strike.
Although five scripts for the second season were previously completed, the fifth one needed a rewrite, which was affected by the writers’ strike. Once the strikes are resolved, production is expected to resume, and viewers can look forward to the second season, likely arriving in 2024, with the possibility of a late 2023 release if conditions permit.

The Old Man is based on Thomas Perry’s bestselling book of the same name. Season 1’s finale ended with Dan Chase and Harold Harper working together to save Angela/Emily after Faraz Hamzad kidnapped her. Season 2 will pick up right from there, with potential flashbacks delving deeper into Dan and Harold’s experiences in Afghanistan.
The following season brings back Jeff Bridges as Dan Chase. Others in the cast include Amy Brenneman’s Zoe McDonald, John Lithgow as Harold Harper, Alia Shawkat as Angela Adams / Emily Chase / Parwana Hamzad, and Gbenga Akinnagbe as Julian Carson.
