Secret Invasion: Why Aren’t the Avengers Superheroes in the TV Show?

The latest episode of Secret Invasion finally explained why the Avengers didn’t show in the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe series, and there’s a good reason why Nick Fury didn’t call his long-term friend Carol Danvers or the other Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Still, will the Avengers appear in the series finale? Here’s what you need to know, and beware of spoilers.

Why aren’t the Avengers in Secret Invasion?

The Avengers aren’t in Secret Invasion as Nick Fury doesn’t want to call them.

While traveling to Finland to retrieve The Harvest, Fury told Sonya Falsworth he opted not to call the Avengers as the clash with Gravik is personal to him. Fury feels responsible for endangering humanity’s existence for having given Gravik the idea of how to create the Super Skrull machine. Fury and Gravik collaborated for The Harvest, where Gravik led the Skrulls entrusted with collecting the Avengers’ DNA. When asked by Falsworth, Fury also stated Earth can’t depend on the Avengers to swoop in and save the day every time.

Will the Avengers appear in the Secret Invasion finale?

Most likely, the Avengers won’t appear in the Secret Invasion finale.

While this is just an educated guess, there are different hints the Avengers might not have a part in the upcoming finale. The MCU series have featured some Avengers cameos, think of Hulk in the She-Hulk series and Captain Marvel in Ms. Marvel. However, this might not be the case for Secret Invasion, as Fury doesn’t look like the kind of man who backs down on his word. This time, humanity must defend itself with its own powers from the Skrull menace. There are also some MCU series that didn’t feature any Avengers cameos, think of Moon Knight.
