One of Madam Web’s more surprising cast choices was the inclusion of Ben Parker. In the film, he works as a New York City Fire Department EMT alongside Cassandra Webb and is one of the major secondary characters. Of course, fans wondered if Uncle Ben dies in the movie since that’s typically what happens to him in every film in which he’s featured. We’ll take a look at Uncle Ben’s role in Madam Web and how it affects the rest of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe below.
Is Uncle Ben in Madame Web, and does he die?
Uncle Ben Parker is in Madame Web, but he doesn’t die during the movie. On the contrary, he fares much better here than he does in practically any other continuity he’s been seen in previously.
Typically, if Uncle Ben appears, it’s only a matter of time before he bites the dust. Though he’s placed in dangerous situations several times during Madam Web, Ben survives to the end and presumably will become Peter Parker’s guardian at some yet to be revealed point in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe timeline.
However, since Madam Web takes place long before Peter Parker (presumably) becomes Spider-Man in this continuity, we don’t know if Uncle Ben will avoid his original fate. We haven’t seen the rebooted Sony’s Spider-Man Universe version of Spider-Man yet. Still, almost every iteration of Ben Parker dies at the hands of a common criminal shortly after Peter gains his powers. His death forms the basis of Peter’s moral imperative to protect the weak and innocent, so Spider-Man might turn out to be a different type of hero (or even a villain) if it doesn’t happen.
So, if we ever get a Spider-Man movie in the current version of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, things don’t look good for Uncle Ben. However, for now, we can presume he’s alive and well.
