Here is what happens in the after-credits scenes of the newest Guardians movie.

Beware, spoilers lie ahead for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3!

Is there a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 post-credits scene?

Yes, there are two post-credits scenes that you should look out for once the credits start rolling in the newest movie. Both scenes contain a few ideas that can get MCU fans excited about what will come next.

What happens in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s end and post-credit scenes?

The first end credits scene features Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), Kraglin (Sean Gunn), Cosmo the Spacedog (Maria Bakalova), and Adam Warlock (Will Poulter) together in a desert, ready to take on an enemy, with Rocket as the newly instated leader of the Guardians. The scene identifies a young girl saved from the High Evolutionary’s ship as Phyla-Vell (Kai Zen). She is a character from the comics who may play a role in the MCU later on. Rocket then plays “Come and Get Your Love” by Redbone, which brings the trilogy full circle as this is the song that played over the opening credits of the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

The second scene features Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) having breakfast with his grandfather (Gregg Henry). The scene is simple, but his grandfather’s newspaper features a front-page headline about Kevin Bacon detailing his story of getting abducted by aliens. This, of course, is a reference to the 2022 Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, where Mantis and Drax kidnap Kevin Bacon to give Peter as a Christmas present.

Our last look at the film is a title card revealing that Star-Lord will return. While we don’t know in what capacity he will be back, we can be sure to see more of the charismatic hero in future MCU movies.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now playing in theaters.
