Spider-Man PS4 Open World Trailer Shows off Avengers Tower & Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum

Next month, Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man PS4 will give Marvel’s web-slinger a new solo adventure…but he’s not the only hero in town! Via IGN, the new Spider-Man PS4 open world trailer drops by two iconic Marvel locations: Avengers Tower and Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum. This doesn’t necessarily mean that Doctor Strange or the Avengers will appear in the game, but it does confirm their existence within this world. The trailer also stops by several famous New York buildings and landmarks to offer a taste of what fans can expect to experience when they step into Spidey’s shoes.

Spider-Man’s alter ego, Peter Parker, does play a role in the game even when he isn’t out trying to protect the city. The trailer touches upon that aspect of the game by letting fans listen to Peter “Patterson” call into J. Jonah Jameson’s “Just the Facts” and attempt to defend Spidey’s actions in the city. It’s actually a pretty clever way to illustrate Spider-Man’s capabilities, as Jonah complains about Spidey’s acrobatic moves and the backpacks hidden throughout the city. There are even some hints about where players will be able find the gangs, as they’ve set themselves up in locations that only Spider-Man would be able to easily find.

This video also reestablishes Spidey’s bond with the people of New York. Jameson has his followers, and there are some people who don’t trust Spider-Man. But there seem to be a lot of civilians who are grateful to have a “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” watching their back. Within the game, Spidey can interact with the various NPCs and share a few good moments with his fellow New Yorkers.

Spider-Man will be released on September 7. You can watch the Spider-Man PS4 open world trailer below!
