Take a Tour of Hell in the DOOM Multiplayer Maps

Last week, Bethesda Softworks and Id Software revealed the DOOM multiplayer trailer, showing off the game’s gnarly competitive feature, and now a new video walks you through all of the game’s nine multiplayer maps, which include:

  • Excavation: A modest-sized UAC mining outpost. Watch out for the rock grinder!
  • Infernal: A mid-sized Hell map with both interior and exterior elements. Lots of platforms and chasms, along with teleporters.
  • Chasm: This massive map takes you deep below the polar ice caps of Mars. A great place to play Freeze Tag.
  • Disposal: This smaller map is the main waste processing facility for the UAC research and residential complexes. Unsurprisingly, it’s full of radioactive slime.
  • Helix: This is where they experiment on demons and develop advanced weaponry. Which, naturally, makes it perfect for a quick round of Clan Arena.
  • Perdition: Disjointed and sadistic, this ancient arena is populated by the agonized moans of unfortunate souls who have suffered within its realm.
  • Sacrilegious: Set within a fracture of Hell, this map offers clear lines of sight. Move fast… or die faster.
  • Heatwave: An industrial UAC facility with glistening halls that will soon be slicked with human (and demon) blood.
  • Beneath: Before being beamed to Earth, the energies of Hell are harnessed in this symmetrical and cavernous location.

Some new details about what the maps will contain were also revealed including one and two-way teleporters (for both humans and demons), bounce pads, explosive barrels and hazard canisters, pools of radioactive slime, lava and pits of death. Take a tour of hell below!

In DOOM’s campaign, there is no taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as you beat back Hell’s raging demon hordes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways. As the iconic DOOM Marine, you wake to learn that the Union Aerospace Corporation’s facility on Mars has been decimated and overrun by hordes of demons. Humanity’s survival rests in your hands – and your hands alone. Fight Like Hell.

DOOM will offer new inventive mechanics for players in addition to expanding on the ones players love about the franchise. Taking a page from the likes of Mortal Kombat, players will be able to perform fatality moves on enemies in the game, who will also have the option of performing different killing moves on the player as well, which you can see demonstrated in the new trailer below.

DOOM is set to debut on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 13. You can pre-order your own copy by clicking here.
