Kingdom Hearts III

Straight from their video games panel at D23 Expo, Disney Interactive has provided a number of new updates on some upcoming titles, including the highly-anticipated Kingdom Hearts III and the upcoming Disney Infinity 3.0.

Square Enix and Disney Interactive announced that the beloved characters and world of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award-winning film Big Hero 6 will make their debut in the ever-expanding narrative of Kingdom Hearts III. The much-anticipated addition to the Kingdom Hearts franchise will take Sora and a cast of Disney companions to the urban setting of San Fransokyo, home of lovable robot Baymax, continuing the events of the animated film. You can check out the announcement video below.

Kingdom Hearts III will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One upon release.

Disney Infinity 3.0

On the Disney Infinity side of things, Disney Interactive revealed a few new bits about the upcoming 3.0 edition with new figure and play set reveals. First up was the announcement that Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia and Spot from Disney•Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur will be joining the all-star Disney Infinity figure lineup. Plus Peter Pan was chosen as the “Toy Box Artists Choice” and will be released as his own figure next year.

Following that, it was announced a brand-new Play Set will debut in Spring 2016 that is titled Marvel Battlegrounds, which will feature the first four-player local co-op available in-game. It was also confirmed that the “Ultimate unlock,” the final item available after unlocking everything in the game, for Disney Infinity 3.0 will be none other than the Keyblade from the “Kingdom Hearts” Franchise.

Regarding Star Wars, a new set of limited edition Light FX Star Wars character figures were unveiled. Available this holiday, these figures have Lightsabers that light up when placed onto the Disney Infinity Base. Figures include Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader from the Star Wars Rise Against the Empire Play Set, as well as Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, and Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Star Wars Twilight of the Republic Play Set and Kanan Jarrus from “Star Wars Rebels.” Stars John Boyega and Daisy Ridley of Star Wars: The Force Awakens also surprised guests on stage and gave away their character figures, Finn and Rey, for the upcoming Play Set based on the film.

Limited Edition Star Wars PlayStation 4

Finally, a limited edition Darth Vader-inspired PS4 system was revealed that will be available as part of two “Star Wars” bundles on November 17th, including either Star Wars Battlefront or Disney Infinity 3.0. The bundles will include a custom 500GB limited edition PS4 system and DUALSHOCK 4 Wireless Controller inspired by Darth Vader. The fully customized PS4 features an image of Darth Vader, as well as a repeated Star Wars logo across the top of the system. The Darth Vader edition DUALSHOCK 4 is inspired by Darth Vader’s chest panel and features the repeated Star Wars logo on its touchpad.
