Cold Iron and Daybreak Games are bringing Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 sooner than expected. The upcoming third-person co-op shooter was revealed earlier this year. Fireteam Elite 2 will let players squad up online to face off against Xenomorphs like the original game.
When is the release date for the new Aliens video game?
The game’s publisher has announced that Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will be released worldwide on August 25, 2026. The publisher also revealed different editions for the game.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 can be purchased in two editions with additional content:
- Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Digital Standard Edition – $49.99
- Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 – 40th Anniversary Premium Edition – $69.99
- Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Premium Edition DLC Upgrade – $29.99
- Rain’s Jackson’s Star Pack – $9.99
The 40th Anniversary Premium Edition will include the base game and two DLC packs. The first is the Ripley’s Hive Exterminator Pack, which includes an outfit based on Ellen Ripley from Aliens, Ripley’s modified pulse rifle, and exclusive decals.
The second DLC, Herk Mondo’s Pest Pack, includes an outfit based on the one the comic book character wears in his adventures, Herk Mondo’s exclusive modified pulse rifle, along with customizable decals.
Rain’s Jackson’s Star Pack includes an outfit based on the one worn by Cailee Spainy’s character in Alien: Romulus. Like the other DLC, the pack will also include Rain Carradine’s modified pulse rifle and exclusive decals.
The original Fireteam Elite was released in 2021 to mixed reviews. However, frequent updates pushed player reception to positive over the years. The game was released on Nintendo Switch as well. The sequel will include full cross-play support between PC and consoles, along with a new customizable class called the Specialist. It’ll launch with a Horde mode with its own maps.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is being developed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
