Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Season 1 Trailer Previews Joker

It’s fair to say that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was something of a disappointment. Publisher Warner Bros. certainly felt so, according to its quarterly earnings call last month. However, the Season 1 update announcement may give players a reason to take a second look.

The Joker is coming to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s free Season 1 update launches March 28, according to its new announcement trailer. While the main game saw players defeat one version of Brainiac, there are still 12 more working together across the multiverse. Season 1 sees Task Force X confronting the second Brainiac. This time, however, they’ll have a new recruit in the form of the iconic DC villain, The Joker. The Clown Prince of Crime comes equipped with a flying umbrella, from which he can bombard enemies with cartoon-style bombs.

The Joker also seems to have rubbed off on this version of Brainiac. Suicide Squad Season 1 adds a new Elseworld, or parallel universe, featuring some very prominent carnival theming. It also introduces new Incursions and another Superman under Brainiac’s control.

In addition to the new world and challenges, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is also getting four new weapons and item sets. The Two-Face and Scarecrow Infamy Sets feature weapons themed around those most iconic Batman villains. Meanwhile, the Merlyn and Black Manta Notorious weapons pay homage to somewhat more niche DC villains.

Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that Season 1 will signal a turnaround for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Rocksteady will have its work cut out if WB’s live-service game is going to overcome its underwhelming start.
