Snoop Dogg Has Dropped Into Call of Duty Like It’s Hot

Just in time for April 20, legendary rapper Snoop Dogg is now a playable operator available across Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone. Just like all the other characters in Activision’s first-person shooter, players can level up Snoop to unlock various themed rewards, including two Sprays, two Operator Quips, a Calling Card, a Sticker, an Emblem, a Weapon Charm, a Vanguard-exclusive Killcam Vanity, and four alternate Operator outfits.

The three unique weapon blueprints included alongside Snoop (the Bong Ripper, the West Coast Bling, and Tha Shiznit) include “Green Weed Tracers” and dismemberment that leaves trails of smoke behind. Opponents will not be able to miss Snoop thanks to these marijuana-themed cosmetic touches. The entire bundle is priced at 2,400 CoD Points, which is around $20 in real-world money.

This isn’t the first time that the D. O. Double G has appeared in the world of video games or even the first time he has graced Call of Duty. On April 21, 2014 (again, just one day shy), Snoop served as an alternate multiplayer announcer in a purchasable voice pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts on the Xbox (the pack came a month later to PlayStation). Outside of the first-person shooter genre, Snoop has also written music and appeared on a stage for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, showed up as a hidden character in True Crime: Streets of LA, and played a key role in Def Jam: Fight for NY‘s story.

Snoop also teamed with developer Echo Peak and publisher 505 Games for his own Xbox Live Arcade release. Called Way of the Dogg, this rhythm and fighting game hybrid came out back in 2013 to generally poor reviews. Anyone looking to try it out in 2021 for novelty’s sake will need an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, as it’s not backward compatible with modern systems.
