Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Will Be Announced Before E3 2022

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a hit for Electronic Arts when it launched in 2019, and while a sequel was assumed to be happening, it seems as one might be announced sooner than later.

According to a recent report from Jeff Grubb during his weekly Giant Bomb show, Grubbsnax, a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be announced before E3 2022, possibly sometime around May 2022.

“Expect to hear about the game in a significant way before E3,” Grubb said, before noting that while there is a “chance” the game could be released in 2022, the more likely bet is that it arrives in “early 2023.”

Developed by Respawn (the developer of the fan-favorite Titanfall series), Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an action-adventure game that adopted the Metroidvania style of exploration and progression. The gameplay, combined with the focus of a fully single-player narrative, was a massive hit for fans, with the game earning rave reviews and selling more than ten million copies in just a year.

The news of a sequel for the game comes after Electronic Arts had committed to the series in August 2021. During an earnings call, the company promised to “continue to invest” in the series, essentially confirming that they would be making another game following its massive success. Reports of the Dead Space remake have even cited Fallen Order as a success and a reason that EA saw value in making more single-player games.
