Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin Locks 3 Missions Behind Digital Deluxe Version

Not everyone will get full access to the upcoming Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin when it comes out on March 18. The action RPG will lock three additional missions behind the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, according to Square Enix.

The game’s official Twitter account revealed the news, noting that three new missions — Trials of the Dragon King, Wanderer of the Rift, and Different Future — would be included in the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game. Unfortunately for those looking to play them without pre-ordering the game, the account noted that the missions wouldn’t be available separately.

While this isn’t the only bonus items players can get for pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe version of the game, users across social media have noted that it is a bit unfair to tie additional missions to pre-ordering the premium version of the game, which currently costs $89.99. The act of tying missions to pre-orders of a game is nothing new, but that has not stopped fans who might have already pre-ordered the game from being angry.

It remains to be seen if Square Enix will add the missions at a later date, or whether or not the missions will stay tied to the Digital Deluxe edition forever. The digital-only edition of the game is available to pre-order now, and also includes early access to the title, two weapons, a Lustrous shield, and the digital artbook and soundtrack.
